I’m back with another Splurge or Save post, and this time we’re talking about blending brushes. A good blending brush is an absolute must-have tool in my makeup routine in my opinion. Often, it’s the only brush I reach for when doing an eye look. Chances are if you’ve already got one of these in your makeup drawer, it is the well-known MAC 217 Blending Brush. However, if you don’t have one, I’ve found a seriously good drugstore dupe for you to consider instead. Oh, and the best part? It’s less than half the price!
Today I’m showing you my 5-product everyday makeup routine that I’ve been loving the past few months. It’s quick and easy, has everything that I need, and gives me a flawless yet natural look that is perfect for every day!
Image by freestocks.org Let me start this post with a quick disclaimer: this is not an ad. I am not being paid or sponsored at all to write this (I wish); it is simply me wanting to share my honest opinion. With that out of the way, I need to tell you about my best-kept skincare secret. I realized this as I was decluttering my makeup and toiletries (my resolution is in full swing). My normal process is that I take everything out of the drawers and off the shelves, do a thorough review, and then only add back in the items I absolutely can’t live without. However, there was one product I didn’t even bother taking off of the shelf, because it has become such a staple in my everyday skincare routine. And it is this:
Hi everyone! So today I’m doing a bit of a review and first impressions of some new items that I’ve recently added to my beauty collection, as well as a couple of old faves that I re-purchased. It’s my birthday this month, so I definitely splurged a little and treated myself to some new goodies. First up is a new product, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, and I got this in the colour Taupe which says it’s meant for ‘light to dark blonde hair’, and that defines me pretty well. I’ve been using a mix of eyebrow products recently, including two different pencils and tinted gel, and I was really looking for a simpler one-step process to getting […]
I’ve been a subscriber to Luxe Box on and off for a couple of years now. If you haven’t heard of Luxe Box before, it’s your typical beauty subscription box, and it’s one of the only ones I know of that’s available in Canada. The cost is around $25 per box and they come once a quarter, typically around when the seasons change. Value for money-wise, it’s probably not the greatest deal (a mix of 7 to 8 trial- and full-size products); but I do enjoy getting sent a box of surprises and discovering new products and brands that I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Luxe Box is where I discovered my absolute holy grail skin product (the Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant from Paula’s Choice), which completely turned my skin around for the better and is a product I don’t think I could […]
