Splurge or Save? Pro Blending Brushes

I’m back with another Splurge or Save post, and this time we’re talking about blending brushes. A good blending brush is an absolute must-have tool in my makeup routine in my opinion. Often, it’s the only brush I reach for when doing an eye look. Chances are if you’ve already got one of these in your makeup drawer, it is the well-known MAC 217 Blending Brush. However, if you don’t have one, I’ve found a seriously good drugstore dupe for you to consider instead. Oh, and the best part? It’s less than half the price!

September Favourites | New to My Beauty Bag

Hi everyone! So today I’m doing a bit of a review and first impressions of some new items that I’ve recently added to my beauty collection, as well as a couple of old faves that I re-purchased. It’s my birthday this month, so I definitely splurged a little and treated myself to some new goodies. I hope you enjoy it, and let me know which of these products you’ve tried/loved/got on your wish list in the comments below. Let’s get started! First up is a new product, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, and I got this in the colour Taupe which says it’s meant for ‘light to dark blonde hair’, and that defines me pretty well. Luxe Box: Fall 2016 Review

I’ve been a subscriber to Luxe Box on and off for a couple of years now. If you haven’t heard of Luxe Box before, it’s your typical beauty subscription box, and it’s one of the only ones I know of that’s available in Canada. The cost is around $25 per box and they come once a quarter, typically around when the seasons change. Value for money-wise, it’s probably not the greatest deal (a mix of 7 to 8 trial- and full-size products); but I do enjoy getting sent a box of surprises and discovering new products and brands that I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Luxe Box is where I discovered my absolute holy grail skin product (the Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant from Paula’s Choice), which completely turned my skin around for the better and is a product I don’t think I could […]

The Spring Beauty Edit

I always like to try new beauty products here and there throughout the year, but I tend to do a more substantial refresh of my makeup routine at the beginning of each season. With Spring comes such wonderful inspiration for makeup, and I especially love the shift towards fresh, glowing skin and bright, playful colours. Today, I want to share with you some new goodies which I’ve added to my beauty routine in the spirit of this lovely season! The first item is MAC’s Matte Lipstick in Mehr. I seriously can’t get enough of it! I bought Velvet Teddy a while ago because I was looking for a matte lipstick and there is a lot of hype right now about that one in particular. But I was a bit underwhelmed by it; I feel like it just doesn’t suit my skin tone and colouring (I’m […]
