Hi everyone! So today I’m doing a bit of a review and first impressions of some new items that I’ve recently added to my beauty collection, as well as a couple of old faves that I re-purchased. It’s my birthday this month, so I definitely splurged a little and treated myself to some new goodies. Luxe Box: Fall 2016 Review

I’ve been a subscriber to Luxe Box on and off for a couple of years now. If you haven’t heard of Luxe Box before, it’s your typical beauty subscription box, and it’s one of the only ones I know of that’s available in Canada. The cost is around $25 per box and they come once a quarter, typically around when the seasons change. Value for money-wise, it’s probably not the greatest deal (a mix of 7 to 8 trial- and full-size products); but I do enjoy getting sent a box of surprises and discovering new products and brands that I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Rainbow Summer Salad with Kale, Yam, and Avocado

Summer Kale Salad

This fresh salad is a staple in my Summer diet and is so easy to make. The vibrant colours of the ingredients make it all the more appetizing! Salad Ingredients Your choice of protein (I like to use baked wild salmon or grilled lemon herb chicken) 1 yam 1 bunch organic kale 1 avocado 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved 1 cup walnut pieces Honey Mustard Dressing 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar Juice from 1 lemon 1 tsp honey 2 Tbsp mustard Salt and pepper to taste Directions Cook your chosen protein by your preferred method. Scrub the yam under water with a brush, poke it with a fork a few times, and bake it in the oven at 425 degrees F for about 40-60 minutes or until done.
